They got cast to play these complex characters and accepted their roles hoping to expand on said characters, just to be written out after the strike with no personal character development. There’s so much more they could have done and could still be doing with the adult characters, specifically Lottie and Van who never really got a chance to grow and find their footing.

Remember when Barbatos was mad that Solomon put him 8th on the list?

Well I am reading "The Lesser Key Of Solomon" its about Solomon and more specifically the 72 Demons he commanded, and, fucker is 8th on the list.

Let me nerd about how cool this book is. It's an anonymously authored "grimoire on sorcery" written in the 17th century using knowledge that was collected for many centuries before. It's all about Solomon and his demons! (It's technically a combo of 5 different books all within the same "series.")

In all honesty, this book is really cool. It shows and talks about the 72 demons, has drawn pictures of each of their seals, and even has their invocations.

This really fuels my Demonology hyperfixation.

POV after the events of Nightbringer, you and Solomon finally make it home, however, the two of you quickly realize a significant amount of time has passed in their absence, thousands of years in fact... Your friends, believing their two human friends to never return, had to deal with the aftermath, and it has changed them. They're the same people you knew, only time and grief has warped them into who they are now. Each of them, older and dealing with things in their own ways, have all changed so much. Even Solomon, who came back with you, seems paler and somehow older, though the most like himself. Ancient wars have been carried out in your absence, time has changed the places you once knew and loved into a foreign world, a shell of your home. You never really can catch a break...

(In this Timeskip AU I took a LOT of creative liberties, giving most of them scars from the multi-world war that occurred. I've been in love with this concept for ages now and I'm so happy to finally have this finished product to look at for hours :D not gonna bother listing their age equivalent in human years but I will say Luke is supposed to be ~17 or so. It's not perfect but oh well, hope you enjoy! 💗 I'll probably do another post in the future explaining them all and what theyre doing nowadays, the scars, etc. Also Barbatos' design is HEAVILY inspired by @waltnut's older Barbs and kinda where the whole idea started for me)

You have rarely seen their true forms in the past. At least, compared to the brothers. So whenever they do let their true form shine, you stand in awe. They look astounding.

Diavolo

"Haha! Of course you can!"

Not any one would have asked the young prince if they could touch his wings, in fear that it could be seen as offensive to their beloved ruler. Any one but you. Diavolo loves that about you. So honest with him. You treat him like you would with everyone.

Diavolo's wings are grand and regal, as majestic as a dragon's. Fit for a king. Each wing is bigger than you, almost twice the size. Your hand is so very small in comparison. They feel rough but are nothing like leather. They're stronger and smoother. The power you feel from this beast from his wings alone is magnificent.

The golden parts of his wings and horns may look like jewellery but they are actually embedded into his body. It's done to every royal member of the monarchy of Devildom. Their version of a crown, something done as soon as their birth. That is the only part Diavolo won't let you touch. He doesn't swat you away or raise his voice, he just simply takes your hand and moves them away. "I know you're curious, but it would be rude," he informs you.

What ever you doing, Diavolo is wearing a massive grin throughout the whole experience. Such a goofy expression compared to his demonic form. You just look so cute with that fascination in your eyes. How could he not smile?

You can touch his wings whenever you want to, Diavolo loves this affection. Although every demon in the room hold their breath when you do.

Barbatos

"... Well, I can't see a timeline where you don't."

Barbatos hates his tail being touched because of how sensitive it is. If any living thing accidentally brushes against it, even for a second, his tail will flinch. The reason for this sensitivity is because it is made to feel the miniscule movements in the environment. Be it physical, magical or spiritual. It's perfect for a being made to foresee events. Unfortunately, it also makes him feel overwhelmed when just anyone will grab it and it frustrates him. Mammon learnt the hard way.

Barbatos naturally says no to these questions but like he just said, he can't see a timeline where you don't touch it. Perhaps he trusts you in every single one, he doesn't specify.

Barbatos braces himself as you lay your palm gently on his tail. It's smooth and slimy, your hand can easily glide across it. The longer you hold his tail, the more your fingers begin to tingle with an magnetic feel; Your hair stands on edge. It's strange.

It wasn't as bad as he thought it would be if he was honest. Although it's still making him shake. He feels vulnerable which hasn't happened to him in eons. It's shocking to feel that emotion again. He's glad he can trust you in that state.

Barbatos is much calmer with you near his tail. It has started to lean against you now, with no hesitation and minor shakiness. He will still jump if you just grab it though, give him a warning beforehand.

Simeon

"Beautiful? Aw, thank you, MC. Of course."

Simeon has one pair of white wings although they aren't as glorious as one would expect from such a saint. They aren't as thick with feathers as Lucifer's or as fluffy as Luke's. They're simple, modest, and humble. Yet you gave him a reaction he'd expect from someone seeing Michael's wings. He's flattered.

The first thing you notice as you hand strokes his wings is how warm they are, like a cozy cottage fire. You could hug them for hours... When you do hug it, Simeon laughs and folds the wings to pull you closer. Such bliss.

Simeon happily hugs you with his wings from now on. Holding you on his lap and his wings wrapped around the both of you while reading a fairytale.

He used to believe his wings were never special and that never bothered him. Now, however, you think they are. Now they feel magical to him, thanks to you.

Luke

"Thank you! Normally I'd say no but since it's you, you can."

Luke is very pleased you like his wings! You're one of his favourite people and your opinion matters to him more than he thought it would.

Big and puffy, the purest white is the only way I can describe his wings. Petting his wings is like petting a fluffy puppy. So soft. They're also really warm, like a soft hot water bottle.

They show that a lot of care has been put into his wings which makes sense considering that an angel's wings are seen as a gift from god, and he has three pairs of them!

Luke's wings are comedically large compared to his size. Almost every demon in RAD pointed this out immediately and made laughs about it, telling him not to trip on them. Simeon says that he'll grow into them eventually.

If you bring up the fact that he let you pet his wings, especially to one of the brothers like Lucifer, the teasing will get worse. "MC said your wings were soft, like a tiny dog. Is that right, chihuahua?" 😡

[Kromer's voice is quiet yet shaky. As if it is trying to make sure that it won't wake Sinclair. However, that consideration quickly vanishes given the following series of events.]

[Kromer's free arm is suddenly attached to another person. Guido. They both sit in silence for a moment, seeming to take a moment for their minds to catch up to the baffling situation.]

...

[Kromer oddly... Doesn't even feel fear at first. Kromer doesn't feel anything. Even as Kromer is roughly thrown off Sinclair, a nail going through its head, there is barely a flicker of emotions.]

[And then comes the resurrection. One much more painful than what is typically done for resurrecting a Sinner. Kromer can feel every fibre of its matter sew back together slowly, only to be interrupted by another stab. The machine's arms violently twitch, as if Kromer is trying to get a moment of reprieve between murders. Eventually, the android manages to redirect the nail to hit the floor beside it. Kromer squirms and catches a hand on its PDA. Kromer needs to open it. Kromer needs to message someone: Yuzu, Dongbaek-- anyone!]

[But... There's a message waiting for Kromer as the android powers on its device.]

[Those words are what strikes that cold stake of fear through Kromer's chest. (though, it takes Kromer a moment to realize that the machine actually DOES have a nail also staked through its chest) Desperation starts to leak through the android's movements. Kromer can't escape. Kromer kicks, claws, tries to get its feet under it to run... Yet nothing works. There's two more people over Kromer, the robot's arms quickly get nailed to the floor and pinned like a moth on display.]

[The people above Kromer are geering the prosthetic. They repeatedly drive nails into Kromer, they tear at Kromer's prosthetic body-- yet Kromer's body keeps being brought back from the brink of death. If something vital is removed, Kromer's body quickly reattaches it. Yet Kromer is very quickly learning what its like to be on the other side of this torture. The prosthetic's ability to talk has already been removed, Kromer's left leg has been discarded off to the side, and as a nail is driven through Kromer's head for what seems to be the hundredth time, Kromer is finally realizing something.]

[All of those people Kromer hurt. They felt this. Their last remaining cries for help weren't just 'survival instincts'. They weren't 'scared of shutting down'...]

[Kromer hurt actual innocent people.]

[Kromer knows the people above it are talking, likely trying to communicate to Kromer. But the realization of the culmination of Kromer's life seems to have made it impossible to pay attention.]

[This... This is what Kromer gets. Kromer... Deserves this.]

[Another stake is driven through Kromer's head. At this point there is a halo of oil, blood, and other liquids around Kromer. The robot keeps being dragged back to life just as it's ended.]

Palm Kisser (affectionate)

Simeon made it seem like a simple task to love you so much, and devote himself to you and only you. He hardly ever shied away from your affections, instead openly adjusting and welcoming them in split seconds. He did partake in creating his own way of showing his love for you as well, though, not only with words but also his actions.

The man is truly an angel. A darling of a partner, always able to make his love for you significantly known. Then again, it wouldn't be hard to miss his love-filled stare with him right in front of you, crouched down on one knee and bowing his head to place a delicate kiss on the back of your hand. His eyes pierce you as he looks up at you, both of his hands holding yours while your other rests on his head, in his hair. He continues giving kiss after kiss to your hand. One may think of the look in his eyes as lustful, but it is of pure devotion, unspoken promises, and praise.

He turned your hand over, placing a soft kiss on the palm of your hand, his eyes never leaving yours as he did. A beat of silence follows before his eyes trail down your arm and he lets out a quiet sigh. His eyelids fluttered closed briefly before flickering back open and darting to you again.

"Are you alright, Simeon?" Your voice fills the empty room with a quiet sense of sincerity.

"Hmm?" His gaze never left yours as he gave a quiet hum. He tilts his head ever so slightly as if he didn't hear you, nudging your hand against his face during the process before giving an answer. "I would say I'm quite alright." He responds with that boyish smile of his. At times it's easy to forget just how long your lover has truly lived for, but he's so young-spirited that you can't even tell. And quite frankly, you couldn't care either.

"Just checking." You whisper as your gaze matches his in showing affection for one another. A smile graces your face. As your lips turn up in a smile, so does Simeon's.

"I don't know how I could not be alright when I have someone like you standing in front of me, and loving me as well." He lets out a breathy chuckle. His eyes leave yours to look at your hand in his. Only thinking for a split second, he closes his eyes as he kisses your palm yet again. The sensation sends butterflies loose in your stomach as a faint blush coats your cheeks at your lover's display of affection.

"Oh please, Simeon you're-" You let out a quiet chuckle of your own looking away and ignoring the warmth dusting your face and the light feeling in your stomach.

"Oh, I'm what?" He's looking back up at you again. Half-lidded eyes searching yours, a small love-sick smile adorning his features. His hand trails up, gently holding your wrist, he leans forward and- without his eyes leaving yours, he places a kiss to your wrist. He moves back, his hand still holding onto you as he patiently waits for your reply.

Feeling light shivers crawl up your spine, you stiffen your back for a brief moment. "You're making me flustered..." Your expression matches his, a love-sick grin on your face.

"Would you like me to stop?" He looks at you, gauging your reaction. If you wanted him to stop then he would. But the look he was giving you made you think he already knew your answer.

You let out a sigh through your nose, exhaling slowly. "No... Not really." You wore a mock guilty look, he wouldn't shame you for anything and you knew that. That's why you can be so honest and calm around him. He doesn't mind, all he cares about is making you happy.

"Well then," He stood up from his position, his hand never leaving yours. Raising his free hand, he grazes your face, holding you gently as his thumb slowly moves across your skin. He's close, his lips almost touching yours. Never once did he break eye contact. "just let me know when to stop." He spoke with a kind smile, resting his forehead against yours.

Then, he kissed you. And he took his time doing so.

finally i painted this!! i hope u like my version of him. i’m going to explain the design under the cut in case u want to read it :)

i tried to mirror lucifer and reverse it completely.

brown skin and blond hair. i made him have long hair because not only is the opposite of luci but also the cast is missing a man with long hair cmon!!!

overall soft features, brown bambi eyes. contrary of lucifer’s red foxy eyes. did u know there’s not a single character with brown eyes in obey me?? justice for my people.

honestly the colors was a challenge, obey me uses bright colors and pastel colors AND black and white for their angel designs. this was hell. considering my color palettes tend to be very desaturated and also limited, i tend to use max 5 main colors and that’s pushing it lol. so trying to find harmony in all that was hard.

i decided to use royal blue, because i think it goes very well with blond and decided to use that as his main color. which is ironic, bc luci is represented by blue. but tbh i associate lucifer with the color red more than i do blue.

as for the pastels, i had a conversation with a friend and told me she associate michael with wrath if we had to choose a sin for him. so that’s why i used pastel green. and orange. bc we need warm colors to blend with his skin/hair.

as for his clothes. i gave him a long cape (if u can call it that) that only covers the middle of his arms and stays in place thanks to the gold hoops at the sleeves. white pants with a pastel green gradient at the bottom to match with the bodysuit. this bodysuit looks the same on the backside too.

gave him some tiny wings near his head bc he’s a seraph in nightbringer. so they stayed in the design.

michael is a militar angel. so i tried to add metal boots (a suggestion from a redditor, a cool one btw!) but it just looked so out of place with all the gold and pastels that i opted for giving him a cool gold sword instead. (i wonder if he fought lucifer with that one)

and that’s pretty much it. i liked how it turned out considering i almost never draw full bodies. hopefully i can incorporate him more in my art from now on.

So I went ahead and did everybody, including of course our man Mephisto! I also did my OC Arsenios because I was curious about what his reaction would be lol.

Part One

Diavolo

Absolutely thrilled, of course. Tell him everything you know about conversation hearts, even if it's just that they exist and are sold every year. Watch his eyes get all shiny as he looks at them because he thinks they're so adorable.

He will eat them, but he will read every single one in the box out loud to you first. And he'll want you to eat them with him, so he's going to deliberately give you the ones that he would actually like to say to you. This means you end up eating most of them because he can't help himself.

Give him the one that says MY HERO and watch him blush. He tries to keep his cool, but you can see how much it means to him. He's happy you gave him these, MC. Thank you for sharing a piece of your world with him.

Now you're the one blushing. Diavolo gives you his signature laugh and pulls you into his arms. Gives you the last one that just says KISS before doing exactly that.

Barbatos

He's surprised, but quite happy because it turns out he actually made his own version to give to you. He thought you might like a little piece of home, but he never expected you to share that same thing with him. He's touched that you thought of him, MC.

He is aware of them because of his tendency to learn about human world desserts and candies. The ones he made for you are beyond delicious. You insist he share them with you because they taste better than the normal chalk version. Barbatos is happy to, but he finds the regular human world variety quite charming as well.

His hearts have a lot of the usual cute sayings, but a couple of them have more elaborate decorations such as a little bouquet of flowers or an elegant lace pattern. You can't help but blush when you find one that just says your name.

He finds the same message in both sets of hearts and gives them to you. They say BE MINE. Give him one back that says I'M YOURS and all the sweet candies are forgotten because he needs you in his arms that very second.

Simeon

Oh these are incredibly cute. He's so happy that you've given him some! If the box happens to have any texting acronyms, though, he will be baffled. Holds one up for you that says TTYL with a question in his eyes. Explain to him what they all mean and that it's only something they include because they're short enough to fit on the hearts.

Simeon finds them delightful. He'll be especially pleased if you give him an extra box for Luke. He thinks Luke would love to decorate a cake with some of these!

But he has to admit that the messages are a little too short to truly encompass how he feels about you. He shifts some of them around to from little sentences, eventually landing on REAL LOVE, PEACE, FOREVER. Do you understand what he's trying to say, MC?

Maybe you form your own sentence in hopes that he'll see you do understand. Something like ONLY YOU, ANGEL. Watch him blush and smile. Then he's kissing you and it's far sweeter than anything a conversation heart has to offer.

Solomon

Of course he's already familiar with this particular item from your shared human experience. He was probably alive when they first came on the scene and he might tell you about it if you prod him enough. He might not have been paying much attention, though, so likely his memory on this just that they showed up at some point.

He's really quite happy that you gave him some. His instinct is to wow you by using magic to alter them. He turns them different colors and changes the words on them. He makes one spell out a whole Shakespeare sonnet one or two words at a time.

You can't help but laugh at that, but you tell him it's cheating. If he really wants to let you know how he feels, he has to use what's already in the box. He accepts your challenge. Have you forgotten who you're dealing with, MC?

Surprises you by not giving you a whole stack of them. He only hands you a single heart. It says, boldly and clearly, I LOVE YOU. He's smiling his mischievous smile, but there's a slight blush there, too. Your answer is a kiss.

Mephistopheles

At first he's somewhat confused. Why are you giving him a box full of chalk, MC? He's not exactly familiar with human world stuff, so he doesn't realize it's candy at first. Explain it to him and he's surprisingly appreciative. He wasn't expecting you to think of him.

Really knock his socks off by giving him a few extra boxes for his little brother. The fact that you remembered he has one really makes him soft. It also gives him the opportunity to ask about your own family. He wants to know about them, if you want to talk about them.

Now you're having a whole conversation that goes far beyond the hearts, but you're both enjoying them together. He might not even like them all that much, but he seems to be content to eat them with you.

Deliberately give him one that says FIRST KISS and watch him get flustered. Acts like it wasn't an invitation on your part, so you'll have to be a little more blatant if you actually want him to kiss you. Eventually he gets the message and it turns out he's wanted to kiss you all along. You can tell by how hungry his lips are and the way he wraps his arms so tightly around you.

Raphael

Surprises you by actually knowing about them. Seems confused by your surprise. Surely you've heard about Michael's preference for sweet things. That extends to human world items like this, too. He doesn't really get the appeal, but he is happy that you thought of him.

He actually likes the brevity of the messages. They're short and efficient, communicating a single sentiment quickly and clearly. Nobody could misinterpret something that says CALL ME. That's pretty straightforward, don't you think, MC?

This argument is all well and good until you give him one that says XOXO. He has no idea what that means. Perhaps it's in a human world language he's not familiar with? He takes back everything he said about clear communication.

Once you explain what they mean, he gets a little flustered. Hugs and kisses? Why not just say that? Distract him by pulling him in for a simultaneous hug and kiss. He's blushing for real now. He understands the essence of XOXO a little better, but he wouldn't mind if you showed him again.

Thirteen

Wow, humans do some really adorable things, don't they? Look at these tiny hearts with cheesy words on them! They look like chalk, but she finds them endearing. And of course she's trying to hide how pleased she is that you gave her something. It's really cute of you.

She's already coming up with ways to use them for traps. Put a spell on one and leave it somewhere an immortal sorcerer just might happen to find it. She might do it, too, if you don't distract her a bit.

Find one that says MY GIRL to give to her. She smiles and blushes just a little, but leans in to ask if you think she belongs to you. Maybe you tell her that you'd like that. A direct response such as that flusters her and now she's not sure how to react.

Searches through the hearts, but she can't seem to find one that says what she wants, so she just shoves the first one she picks up toward you. It says LOL. You actually do laugh because it's pretty cute how flustered she is. She decides to clear things up by kissing you. You get a little dizzy at how quickly she goes from shy to bold. It's some time before she lets you go.

Arsenios

The minute you put the box in his hand, he's fighting down a blush because wow, you are really cute, MC. A sweet little human like you actually taking the time to give him these candies stamped with lovey phrases really surprises him.

He takes them all out of the box and lines them up in the way that makes the most sense. You're a little confused about why he's doing it until he takes out his guitar. A few chords later and he's singing you a song using every phrase from the box. You're both laughing pretty quickly because the words are mostly nonsense.

But Arsenios deliberately left the best group for last and his voice becomes sweet when he sings you the final line. ONLY YOU, MY LOVE, BE TRUE. It's still only a fragment of a sentence at best, but the sentiment rings through the notes and you can see it in his eyes.

He smiles at you as the notes fade away because he's pleased at your reaction. But it isn't enough, so he takes your hands and asks if he can kiss you. If you say yes, you'll find yourself so distracted in his embrace that you don't notice that he never actually ate any of the candy hearts.
